By the age of 20 she had performed as concertmaster with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, English National Opera and BBC Concert Orchestra After leaving the London Philharmonic Orchestra, she worked for 20 years as a freelance player in London, recording music for films, television and records and toured England, Europe, and the Middle East as a member of the Lake Piano Trio.
In 1997, she married composer Bruce Broughton and moved to Los Angeles with her two sons, where she has continued her recording and performing career.
